Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Wall marks 30th Anniversary

Thirty years ago today the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Wall was dedicated.  Since then it’s been seen by millions.   The man responsible for engraving the names of the 58 thousand people who died or went missing in action is well known in Southwest Florida and lives on Sanibel .    Luc Century’s  glass etchings grace many buildings and homes.  But the wall will always remain at the center of his work.  He talked to WGCU's Valerie Alker

Valerie Alker hosts All Things Considered. She has been a Reporter/Producer and program host at WGCU since 1991. She reports on general news topics in Southwest Florida and has also produced documentaries for WGCU-TV’s former monthly environmental documentary programs In Focus on the Environment and Earth Edition. Valerie also helps supervise WGCU news interns and contributes to NPR programs.
