Governor Rick Scott was scheduled to meet this afternoon with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. The meeting takes place under the shadow of a Supreme Court battle.

The Scott Administration is suing Georgia in the latest chapter of a decades-long “water war” between the two states and Alabama.
Justices are scheduled to hear Florida’s demand to limit Georgia’s withdraws from the Chattahoochee River. The suit argues that Georgia’s actions are starving an already decimated Apalachicola Bay Oyster industry.
Last year, Scott had harsh words as he stood before protesters in Apalachicola and promised to fight for more water.
“We’ve negotiated with them, they’re not negotiating in good faith, they’ve kept our water, it’s been going on for decades. Florida’s going to file suit to make sure this stops.”
A spokeswoman could not immediately confirm what the two discussed.
