Overview of Tropics

WUFT

Heavy rain is still falling in west-central Florida where river flood warnings continue for area creeks and streams. Two new tropical storms could form in the coming days, and the remnants of Harvey could affect parts of the Florida panhandle later this week. Meteorologist Jeff Huffman has been watching it all.
"The system northeast of Jacksonville might become a tropical storm, but it's pulling away from the state. A new tropical wave is likely to develop in the central Atlantic, but it's a least a week away from land. Closer to home, the heavy rain across central Florida should diminish by midweek, but I do have some concern that some of the heavy rain from Harvey might move into western sections of the Florida panhandle by week's end", said Huffman.
