Big retail names like Walmart and Target are opening their doors for Black Friday shopping Thursday evening.
USF marketing professor Dipayan Biswas says in a few years, this could mean Black Thursday is here to stay.
"This year, walmart opened at 8. Does Kmart say next year we are going to open at 7? So does it get into- I mean we've heard of price wars but does it get into a time war?"
Professor Biswas says retailers have seen people stand outside store doors for hours since Thursday night waiting for doorbuster deals. Instead of having those people stand outside waiting for hours.... why not let them shop for a few more hours?
