Tropical Outlook

Florida Public Radio Emergency Network

The Florida Public Radio Emergency Network is operational as of today. Meteorologist Jeff Huffman says it will be a quiet start to the season, at least for the next five days.

It was only two years ago today that some residents along florida's first coast were cleaning up from tropical storm beryl. So it goes without saying that storms can form this time of year. In this first update of the 2014 season, there are no indications a storm may form in the next five days. However, long range data suggests a disturbance may develop in the southern gulf by next weekend.
