Biden, Ryan Conduct Dueling Vice Presidential Campaigns in Hillsborough County

Both vice presidential candidates were in Hillsborough County Friday. Current Vice President Joe Biden addressed a campaign rally in Sun City Center, followed by Republican aspirant Paul Ryan. Biden fired up a crowd of mostly seniors at Sun City Center's Community Association Hall.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this election is about a lot," Biden said. "But it's also about who we are as a country. And I've got news for Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan. And they are dead wrong. America is neither dependent nor are we in decline. Period."

Later, Ryan spoke to a younger crowd about high unemployment during a stop at the University of South Florida's Center for Entrepreneurship.

"We have a serial problem that needs to be fixed," says Ryan. "And it seems to me that entrepreneurship and small businesses is the critical component of that, because that's where most of our jobs come from. And so it seems to us, clear the barriers. Reduce the hurdles that make it hard for small businesses to be viable and internationally competitive."

Biden is on his way to Fort Pierce, with Ryan heading to Palm Beach County before meeting up with Mitt Romney in Daytona Beach.
