Former State Chief Financial Officer and gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink says she hasn’t made up her mind whether she will run for governor again in 2014.
Earlier this month another factor was thrown into the 2014 race. Former GOP Governor Charlie Crist switched his party affiliation to Democrat amidst rumors that he will seek that party’s nomination for governor. Sink says she’s watching to see how this plays out.
Sink said, "I have kept the door open – there are a lot of moving parts here. Rick Scott is a terrible governor. He doesn’t represent the best interests of Floridians. And of course we have this epiphany on the part of Charlie Crist, who now says he’s a Democrat. So there are a lot of moving parts, and I just haven’t decided yet."
Sink also weighed in on the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday, saying she’s glad some Republicans are warming up to the idea of tighter gun control regulations. She says she sees no reason why a citizen would need a semiautomatic assault rifle.
