U.S. Senator Marco Rubio says any increase in the nation’s debt ceiling must be accompanied by spending cuts. Rubio says there must be a real debate about the nation’s debt and how the country can avoid future debt limit increases.
The Senator says the last debt limit increase came with the promise of future spending reductions, but they never materialized.
Rubio was in Jacksonville today to meet with employees at Firehouse Subs Headquarters. Rubio says he likes to get out of Washington and meet with business people to hear first-hand their concerns and what he can do to help job creation.
Rubio says economic growth and not tax hikes is the key to increasing federal revenue.
