Polls Shows Crist with Big Lead on Everybody

A new poll shows former Florida Governor Charlie Crist with a big lead over Governor Rick Scott in a head to head matchup. Crist also is well ahead of all Democratic Primary challengers if he runs for Governor in 2014.

In the Public Policy Polling survey released on Wednesday, 53% of respondents said they would vote for Crist while 39% supported Scott. Scott continues to poll poorly with only one-third of voters approving of his job performance. PPP Director Tom Jensen says Crist, who became a Democrat in December, is strongly supported by members of his new party.

52%  of Democratic voters polled said they’d support Crist in a Democratic primary. Only 18% support 2010 Democratic nominee Alex Sink. 13% back former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio. The one declared candidate, Democratic State Senator Nan Rich, garnered only 1% support. The automated poll conducted between January 11th and 13th has a margin of effort of about 4.5%.
