Sebelius in Florida to Promote Improved Website

The National Academy of Sciences

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says the Healthcare.gov website is improving daily. The federal government’s online health insurance exchange has been plagued by technical problems and very low enrollment, but Sebelius visited Orlando this Tuesday morning to promote the website's successes.

Roughly a half-dozen enrollment assisters were on the job at Orlando Technical College as Sebelius made the first of two Florida stops to talk about Healthcare.gov. She says the website is running faster and with fewer errors - but regaining the confidence of users will require some work.“There is a tendency to have a narrative that says there are no improvements, nothing right is going on and you’re running out of time, we are one quarter into a four quarter open enrollment”, Secelius said.

Sebelius also highlighted the importance of getting 20-somethings to sign up. She says 23% of Floridians still don’t have affordable health care, but there is plenty of time to enroll.
