Charlie Crist won the Democratic nomination for governor Tuesday and he quickly turned on his opponent – Governor Rick Scott. Crist hit Scott for cutting education, going soft on utility companies and offering tax breaks to companies promising jobs – and then never delivering.
Crist told supporters he wants to restore “our Florida.”
“But virtually every issue that matters to Florida’s middle-class families, when it comes to taking even a single step to make it a little easier for Florida’s families to pay the bills...Rick Scott has not been on our side. Don’t boo. Vote", said Crist. Both Crist and Scott have campaigned as if they were already the general election candidates.
Florida governor’s race is expected to be the most expensive in the country this year. Recent polls show the race between Scott and Crist is a statistical tie.
