Former President Bill Clinton made stops yesterday in Tallahassee, South Florida and Tampa to campaign on behalf of former governor - and former Republican - Charlie Crist. About a thousand Charlie Crist supporters gathered for a campaign event Sunday afternoon in East Tampa.Taking the stage Sunday afternoon with Crist, Clinton started with this:
"I want you to know how strong my family feels about this race", Clinton said. "This is Hillary's birthday and I had to get an excused absence to come down here."
The former president urged people to get out and vote early.
"You cannot afford to squander an opportunity to make this new beginning", Clinton said. "You went six years trying to get over the terrible economic crash we had, and now we can roll. We had better roll together. That means you gotta vote. This is all up to who votes."
Crist isn't the only one with high-profile party members campaigning on his behalf.
His opponent in this dead heat, current governor Rick Scott, will appear Tuesday in Sarasota with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.
