Bondi Uses Victory Speech to Call for Court Ruling on Same Sex Marriage

Attorney General Pam Bondi moved into her second term as Florida's top lawyer with relative ease over her opponents Democrat George Sheldon and Libertarian Bill Wohlsifer. Bondi's victory speech in Tampa came a little more than an hour after polls closed in the Panhandle.

Surrounded by family and elected Republicans like State Senator Tom Lee and her former boss - Hillsborough State Attorney Mark Ober - Pam Bondi took center stage with a huge smile.

She congratulated her two opponents for the race saying "this isn't fun" and then wished them well.

"Along the way I learned that upholding my sworn oath of office, would not be the most popular or easy thing to do like the same sex marriage issue there are good people on both sides", said Bondi. "I am urging the courts to expedite this to give us all what we need – finality"

Bondi then warned that she will not be silenced or bullied by the federal government. She says the top priorities for her second term will be to crack down on human trafficking, synthetic drugs, scams on the elderly and identity theft.
