A new study from the nonpartisan Urban Institute ranks Lee County the second worst housing market in the country for low income families. Findings from the Washington D.C.-based think tank indicate Lee County has nine affordable rental units per 100 rentals, second only to Cobb County Georgia.
Current conditions have been driven by a high growth rate of extremely low income rental households while the number of rental options available to that population has been in decline over the past decade.
