Everglades: America’s Wetland

Mac Stone
Everglades Snail Kite swoops down on it’s prey";

Biologist and award-winning wildlife photographer Mac Stonespent five years traveling the greater Everglades eco-system taking photographs for his new book, “Everglades: America’s Wetland.” These compelling photographs and accompanying essays from some of the Everglades’ greatest advocates provide a glimpse into the beauty and variety of flora and fauna found in Florida’s River of Grass. Many of the images come from sites so remote that most people will never get the chance to see them firsthand. We’ll hear from Stone about the work that went into capturing the images in his book, his personal connection to the Everglades, and the importance of preservation and environmental restoration efforts.
