This week marked the end of a quiet hurricane season. But, now the state is looking at a new set of challenges brought on by what the Ocala Star Banner says is the third-strongest El Nino on record.
El Nino can cause severe weather and flooding. And it’s had deadly results in the state. In 1998, tornadoes caused by a strong El Nino killed 42 people in Orlando and Daytona Beach.
