After more than a year of challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Southwest Florida-based nonprofit, Love Your Rebellion, which works to empower marginalized groups through the arts, is planning to begin hosting in-person events again.Love Your Rebellion will be holding Fort Myers Zine Fest at Neenie’s House at 481 Marsh Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33905 on Friday, April 23 from 6 to 10 p.m.The mostly outdoor event will feature works available for purchase from artists, artisans, zine makers, fashion designers as well as food vendors. The event will also feature live music and a dance performance-style fashion show.

The Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida Southwestern State College in Fort Myers has opened a new site-specific installation of drawings and newly-commissioned paintings by artists Olivier Mosset and Mike Bidlo. We’ll explore the exhibition with gallery director Jade Dellinger and how works in the show echo back to paintings created by Rauschenberg himself nearly 70 years ago.

We continue highlighting ways Southwest Florida’s performing arts community is adapting to the challenges of the ongoing pandemic. We’ll hear from the founder manager of Poetz Realm Florida, LLC, Ernel Grant, whose open mic Monday virtual showcase events have gone virtual. The next event takes place Monday, Aug. 31 at 8:00 p.m. We’ll also meet Southwest Florida based rap, hip-hop and R&B artist Andre Hustle.
