  • State Health officials reported 6,229 new cases of COVID-19, Sunday increasing the statewide total to 532,806 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 77 new coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 9, for a total of 8,315 fatalities. Sunday’s numbers compare to 8,502 confirmed cases and 187 new deaths reported Saturday.Despite Sunday's relatively low number of new coronavirus-related fatalities reported, the daily average number of deaths over the past seven days stands at 158 deaths.
  • State health officials reported 7,104 new COVID-19 cases, Sunday, bringing Florida's total to 487,132 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 62 coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 2, increasing the statewide death toll to 7,084 fatalities. Before Sunday, Florida had experienced five straight days of at least 100 deaths reported in a single day.Sunday was the eighth consecutive day health officials reported fewer than 10,000 cases in a day, marking the first time that's happened since the week of June 24- July 1.
  • State health officials reported 9,785 new cases of COVID-19, Wednesday, increasing Florida's total to 379,619 cases of the virus. The Florida Department of Health also reported another 139 coronavirus-related deaths, yesterday, bringing the statewide death toll to 5,345 fatalities.Of the 3,158,741 COVID-19 tests that have been performed in Florida overall, 12.02% have been positive for the virus.
  • State health officials reported another 12,478 confirmed cases of COVID-19, Sunday, increasing the statewide total to 350,047 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 87 new coronavirus-related deaths, July 19, bringing the statewide death toll to 4,982 fatalities.Sunday marked the fifth consecutive day of daily increases of at least 10,000 cases and the 26th consecutive day of at least 5,000 cases reported in a single day.
  • Thursday marked another record high day for coronavirus-related deaths in Florida with health officials reporting 156 fatalities. Thursday’s deaths mark an 18 percent increase over the previous single-day high of 132 deaths reported Tuesday.The statewide death toll now stands at 4,782 fatalities. Florida's seven-day average for deaths grew to more than 95 a day, Thursday, which is more than double the daily death average less than two weeks ago.
  • State health officials report that Florida's overall number of coronavirus cases topped the 300,000-case threshold, Wednesday. Aside from Florida, only New York and California have reported more than 300,000 COVID-19 cases.Florida reached milestone in cases just ten days after crossing the 200,000-case threshold. There were 10,181 new cases of the virus reported, July 15, for a total of 301,810 cases.
  • State health officials reported a record 132 new coronavirus-related deaths, Tuesday, marking most deaths reported in a single day since the start of the pandemic. The previous record of 120 deaths in a 24-hour period was set July 9. Over the past week, the average number of deaths has risen to about 81 fatalities a day, which is more than double the average daily death rate on July 1.
  • State health officials reported another 12,624 cases of COVID-19, Monday, marking Florida's second highest number of new confirmed cases in a single day after shattering the national single day record, Sunday of more than 15,000 cases.Florida's total number of cases of the virus now stands at 282,435. The Florida Department of Health also reported 35 new coronavirus-related deaths, July 13, increasing the statewide death toll to 4,277 fatalities.Of the 2,642,613 tests that have been performed in Florida so far, 10.7% have been positive for the virus. Florida's positivity rate has averaged around 14.3% for the past two weeks, which is about three times what it was when the first phase of Florida's reopening plan went into effect in May.
  • Florida hit a grim new record, Sunday, as state health officials reported 15,300 new cases of COVID-19, which shatters the national record for the highest number of new confirmed cases of the virus reported in a single day. California held the previous record with 11,694 cases of the virus reported four days prior, and before that New York set the record with 11,571 cases reported April 15th.Sunday marked the third consecutive day of single-day increases of at least 10,000 cases of the virus and the 19th consecutive day of at least 5,000 new cases. Florida’s total caseload now stands 269,811 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 45 new coronavirus-related deaths, July 12, increasing the statewide death toll to 4,242 fatalities. Last week, Florida reported more coronavirus-related deaths than during any previous seven-day period since the pandemic began with an average of 71 deaths per day.
  • State health officials reported 7,347 new cases of COVID-19, Tuesday, increasing the statewide total to 213,794 cases since the pandemic began. July 7 marked the 14th consecutive day of single-day increases of at least 5,000 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 63 new coronavirus-related deaths, Wednesday, bringing the statewide death toll to 3,841 fatalities.Since Phase Two of Florida's reopening plan went into effect June 5th, state health officials have reported a more than 70 percent increase in new cases of the virus.
