The Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization is in the process of developing the county-wide 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). Data comparing Lee County’s population in 2010 to projected growth by 2040 indicates a 69% increase or more and the number of new homes in the county is expected to grow by 83% over that same time period.
Strategic planners are working to take into account a variety of the region’s growing transportation needs including driving, biking, walking, public transportation, and freight. We’ll explore what work has been done on the plan so far, how specific projects are identified and selected and how the public can get involved in the process.
