Incoming Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Cissy Proctor

Florida Governor Rick Scott is tapping Cissy Proctor to lead the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Proctor is stepping into the top spot at Florida’s jobs agency after a year working as chief of staff for outgoing director Jesse Panuccio. The governor’s announcement highlights Proctor’s experience in legislative affairs. That rapport will be important as lawmakers take up Scott’s $250 million Enterprise Florida proposal. In recent months Pannucio has clashed with House and Senate members who could make or break the measure.
