Poll Finds President Obama and Mitt Romney Virtually Tied in Florida

A new poll finds the presidential race is neck and neck in Florida. The poll found President Obama and Mitt Romney locked in a virtual tie in the state. It was conducted by the Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and the Tampa Bay Times.

The president has 48% of likely voters' support while Romney has 47%. That's well within the margin of error of 3.5%. Only 4% are undecided.

Obama is up by six percentage points when it comes to foreign policy. He's also winning the Hispanic vote. And has the support of independents that back him by 11 percentage points more than Romney.

White voters favor Romney by double digits, and he's pulled even with Obama over managing Medicare.

51% of those polled say they're not better off than they were four years ago, while 41% say they are.

The Mason-Dixon poll of 800 likely Florida voters was conducted from September 17th-19th.
