On “Take Our Daughters to Work” day, Gulf Coast Live features women entrepreneurs in Southwest Florida talking about what it takes for a woman to make it in business on her own, and what the future holds for our daughters in the workplace.

Thursday at 1:30 p.m., two local entrepreneurs set to be inducted by Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida into Lee County’s Business Hall of Fame, join the discussion about taking the risk and venturing out on their own: Teri Hansen of Priority Marketing, and Sandy Stilwell of Stilwell Enterprises and Restaurant group.

Also joining the program is Lois Knox, the executive director of the Florida Small Business Development Center, to discuss an upcoming Small Business Association event focused on female entrepreneurs.

One of the panelists for that event, Brenda Tate, founding chair of the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance, also joins the conversation to talk about what a recent study by the alliance says about women business owners in Florida.

Matthew Smith is a reporter and producer of WGCU’s Gulf Coast Live.
