  • Bars in Florida will be permitted to reopen at 50% capacity starting Monday, Sept. 14. The AP reports, Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Secretary Halsey Beshears issued the emergency order, Thursday, at the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis.
  • State health officials reported 3,571 new cases of COVID-19, Thursday increasing Florida's total to 637,013 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 149 new coronavirus-related deaths, yesterday, bringing the statewide death toll to 11,800 fatalities. The seven-day average for numbers of deaths reported in a day is 112. That number has not dropped below 100 reported deaths a day since July 16.
  • The Florida Department of Health reported 1,885 new cases of COVID-19, Monday, marking the ninth consecutive day of fewer than 4,000 cases and the lowest single-day increase in reported cases since June 15.State health officials also reported 68 new deaths of Florida residents, Aug. 31, increasing the statewide death toll to 11,331 fatalities.

The Florida Department of Health also reported 183 new coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 25, bringing the statewide death toll to 10,717 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic.The downturn in the number of COVID-19 tests being reported in Florida continues, even though public health experts say more testing is crucial to containing the virus.

Aug. 20 marked the fifth consecutive day health officials have reported fewer than 5,000 new cases in a day.The Florida Department of Health also reported 119 new coronavirus-related deaths, Thursday, bringing the statewide death toll over the 10,000-fatality threshold with 10,186 total deaths. Thursday marked the 15th consecutive day that health officials reported at least 100 deaths.
  • State health officials reported 4,181 new cases of COVID-19, Monday, increasing Florida's total to 536,961 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 91 new coronavirus related deaths, Aug. 10, bringing the statewide death toll to 8,277 fatalities. Monday's reported number of deaths is one of lowest daily increases in weeks, and the daily increase in reported cases of the virus has remained below 10,000 cases for the last two weeks.
  • State Health officials reported 6,229 new cases of COVID-19, Sunday increasing the statewide total to 532,806 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 77 new coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 9, for a total of 8,315 fatalities. Sunday’s numbers compare to 8,502 confirmed cases and 187 new deaths reported Saturday.Despite Sunday's relatively low number of new coronavirus-related fatalities reported, the daily average number of deaths over the past seven days stands at 158 deaths.
  • State health officials reported 7,104 new COVID-19 cases, Sunday, bringing Florida's total to 487,132 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 62 coronavirus-related deaths, Aug. 2, increasing the statewide death toll to 7,084 fatalities. Before Sunday, Florida had experienced five straight days of at least 100 deaths reported in a single day.Sunday was the eighth consecutive day health officials reported fewer than 10,000 cases in a day, marking the first time that's happened since the week of June 24- July 1.
