Lee Health

  • State health officials reported 8,452 new COVID-19 cases, Wednesday, for a total of 1,134,383 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 137 new coronavirus-related deaths, Dec. 14, increasing the statewide death toll to 20,271 fatalities since the start of the pandemic. Florida surpassed the 20,000-death mark on Saturday.
  • State health officials reported 7,711 new COVID-19 cases, Monday, for a total of 1,065,785 cases.The Florida Department of Health also reported 106 new coronavirus-related deaths, yesterday, increasing the statewide death toll to 19,529 fatalities since the start of the pandemic.
  • State health officials reported 6,331 COVID-19 cases, Wednesday, for a total of 944,745 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 94 new coronavirus-related deaths, Nov. 23, increasing the statewide death toll to 18,310 fatalities.Over the past seven days, the single-day average number of new infections reported has increased to 7,529 cases. The average number of daily deaths reported over the past week has increased to nearly 72 fatalities a day.
  • The School District of Lee County has 2,000 rapid COVID-19 tests available for students and staff who present with symptoms of the virus while on campus.

The Florida Department of Health also reported 41 new coronavirus-related deaths, Nov. 16, increasing the statewide death toll to 17,775 fatalities.On Sunday, state health officials reported an increase of more than 10,000 new infections.

  • State Health officials reported another record, Wednesday, for coronavirus-related deaths with 216 new fatalities. July 29 marked the first time the Florida Department of Health has reported a single-day death toll exceeding 200 deaths.So far this month, Florida has seen 2,783 reported deaths for a total of 6,457 fatalities. 2,836 of Florida's COVID-19 deaths, accounting for nearly 44% of Florida's overall death toll, have been among staff and residents of long-term care facilities.
  • Officials with the Lee Health and Naples Community Hospital healthcare systems both report a slight decrease Thursday in COVID-19 patient volumes. Lee Health’s four acute care hospitals are currently treating 296 COVID-19 positive patients, which is down from 310 patients Wednesday.
