Bill Draft Underway to Reform Early Voting in FL

Floridians were still casting their votes up to 1 o clock in the morning this past election. State representative Darryl Rouson and other officials want to change that for the next election.

Rouson announced today that he's working on a bill for the upcoming legislative session that would go back to having 14 days of early voting instead of the current 10 days.
"It's a shame that the governor has said that we did the right thing", said Rouson. "We did not do the right thing. We need to go back to pre-2011, pre-house bill 1355, and create the opportunities for people to exercise the most basic democratic right."

The current draft of the bill also will extend the time for third party voter registration organizations to submit their forms, from 48 hours to 10 days.
