Multiple rounds of dangerous thunderstorms are expected as another strong winter storm barrels across the country. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes (potentially strong) are possible, especially over the Panhandle and North Florida.

A developing nor’easter will impact most of the state of Florida this weekend. Heavy rainfall and wind gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected across portions of the Peninsula Saturday through early Sunday.An area of low pressure is developing over the Gulf of Mexico ahead of a strong mid-level trough that will be digging into the Lower Plains. The low will start quickly tracking eastward today, and during this period it will be supplemented by Gulf moisture and mid-level energy.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, a popular destination with one of the most pristine stretches of beaches in Naples, is getting a much-needed mangrove makeover to restore portions of its shoreline affected by Hurricane Ian.More than 25 volunteers from Duke Energy Florida, Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Florida, as well as special help from Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC), have teamed up to lead the restoration by planting 500 red and black mangroves across a 4,400-square-foot portion of the park.

Central Tennessee residents and emergency workers cleaned up Sunday from severe weekend storms and tornadoes that killed six people and sent more to the hospital while damaging buildings, turning over vehicles and knocking out power to tens of thousands.Officials confirmed that three people, including a toddler, died after a tornado struck Montgomery County 50 miles (80 kilometers) northwest of Nashville near the Kentucky state line on Saturday afternoon. Some 23 people were treated for injuries at hospitals in the county, officials said in a news release.
