ACLU President will speak in Naples

The President of the American Civil Liberties Union speaks in Naples this week,  kicking off the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples and Common Ground Naples   annual Wednesday lecture series. Susan Herman also teaches at Brooklyn Law School and has written a number of books dealing with constitutional law.  She ssaid  the ACLU was founded in response to people’s rights being trampled on by prosecutors and others.  She speaks Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Valerie Alker hosts All Things Considered. She has been a Reporter/Producer and program host at WGCU since 1991. She reports on general news topics in Southwest Florida and has also produced documentaries for WGCU-TV’s former monthly environmental documentary programs In Focus on the Environment and Earth Edition. Valerie also helps supervise WGCU news interns and contributes to NPR programs.
