Southwest Florida-based abstract painter Maria Collier has a solo exhibition called “Sound & Color” coming to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Collier’s distinctive, intuitive style is often driven by the music she listens, and dances, to while creating in her studio.

According to organizer Melissa DeHaven, from designers and models to hair and make-up artists, everyone wants to be part of the 11th Annual Arts Walks the Runway at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers. WGCU's Tom Hall takes you behind the scenes to reveal just how the designers, performers and models are getting ready for this year's two-night fashion show.

Multi-instrumentalist, singer, dancer, band leader, and composer Gunhild Carling will perform Friday, Feb. 24 in the Grand Atrium of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center as part of the center’s “Jazzy Nights” music series. We talk with Carling about her remarkable musical upbringing, her affinity for American jazz music from the 1920s and 30s, and her approach to performing and composing new music.
