As part of its long-term plan to modernize its aerial fleet, the Collier Mosquito Control District’s aircraft fleet now includes a Twin Otter fixed-wing and a second Bell 407 helicopter to perform aerial treatment missions for the control of both larval and adult mosquitoes.

The Collier Mosquito Control District’s aerial fleet now includes three airplanes and four helicopters.

Disasters like Ian pose extra risk for older people with health issues

Florida has attempted to address some of these issues by setting up shelters where people with health conditions that require electricity for oxygen, dialysis and devices like ventilators can preregister to stay.

The Healthcare Network community outreach street team walks door-to-door on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Immokalee's more underserved areas. They knock on doors each week in an effort to inform residents about the clinic's services and assist people with any issues they are having in terms of accessing proper care.

The Healthcare Network Community Outreach Team is continuing door-to-door health canvassing in Immokalee. This person-to-person approach began in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and has evolved to include chronic care health resources.

Lee Health’s “It’s All About You,” Chronic Pain Self-Management Program” a Self- Management Resource Program with the SMRC is offering a free, research-based Chronic Pain Self-Management program for the community.
